Pink Belt Campaign

GKR Karate was thrilled to run the Pink Belt Campaign – designed to raise awareness and much-needed funds for cancer research, sufferers, and their families.

The most common cancers in Australia are prostate, breast, colorectal (bowel), and melanoma. Lung cancer is considered to be one of the top 5 leading causes of death in Australia in 2021 for both males and females. However, by the age of 25, one in two will be diagnosed.

One of the most effective ways to prevent cancer is to follow simple practices to create a healthy and sustainable lifestyle.

When out in the sun:

  • Wear sunscreen.
  • Wear a hat.
  • Wear sunglasses.
  • Seek shade if required.

Diet and exercise:

  • Eating a well-balanced diet of fruit, nuts, vegetables, and meat.
  • Avoid weight gain (hey, you can join Karate to stay in shape!)
  • Limit alcohol.

Our teams all came together to help raise over $70,000. GKR Karate would like to thank everyone who participated.
