  • GKR Karate History in Australia
GKR Karate was established In Adelaide, South Australia, in 1984.

By 1991, the club had grown to a weekly attendance of 2,000 students throughout Adelaide. With a small but dedicate group of experienced instructors, GKR began to spread to other major cities throughout Australia. By the year 2000 GKR Karate Australia had an impressive club of over 15,000 students, and enjoyed major success at both State and National Open Tournaments with an ever-increasing number of students winning National and World Championships.

There are currently 25 Regional Managers throughout Queensland, NSW, ACT, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and Western Australia. Each region is managed and operated by a qualified Regional Manager. Their role is to oversee both the karate training and business development of their region.

GKR Karate Australia has 2 Senior Instructors/Zone Directors whose role is to help guide the development of GKR’s karate-ka and operations personnel, and ensure that GKR’s high standards are met both in and out of the dojo.
