The World Cup is now only six months away and entries will be opening soon!  In the mean time, here’s some important information you need to know:

3 DAY EVENT

The World Cup will be held over 3 days, Friday 9th August – Sunday 11th August 2024 at ‘Netball Central’, Sydney Olympic Park.

This year, Friday night and Saturday will host the heats for all divisions and the final medal rounds for all yellow and orange belt competitors, and some of the junior green, blue and red belt divisions.

This event schedule will culminate in a Super Sunday of kata and kumite finals, showcasing the best of the best in GKR!

ONLINE ENTRIES

All entries for the World Cup will be online and will be opening late April. You will also be able to pre-order all your World Cup merch and spectator passes online at the same time.

CRITERIA / ELIGIBILITY FOR ENTRY

Yellow and Orange Belt Division: There is no prior tournament entry requirements for competitors entering in the 8th to 7th kyu divisions (yellow/orange belt students).

Green Belt (6th kyu) and above Divisions: All competitors green belt (6th kyu) and above must have competed in a GKR tournament in 2023 or prior to the World Cup in 2024.

All grades: Entry into the 2024 GKR Karate World Cup is only available to current active students. It is not open to past members who are no longer training in our classes.

Age Divisions: Please note that the age division you enter must represent the your age as of 9th August 2024.

GKR KARATE 40TH ANNIVERSARY AND WORLD CUP AFTER PARTY

Keep the Sunday evening free! We’d love for you to stay around and soak up the atmosphere after the medals and trophies have been awarded as we celebrate GKR’s 40th Anniversary at our World Cup after party.
