UK – Central Zone Championships 2026 Results

The UK Central Zone Championships was held at The University of Wolverhampton on Saturday 10th October 2026.

A message from the Tournament Director – Sensei Andy Hawley:

What a fantastic day it was at the Central Zone Championships in Walsall! It is always great to see returning competitors and also welcome new faces competing for the first time! A huge thank you to the spectators for their invaluable cheerleading throughout the day – the atmosphere was electric!

We bowed in at 8.45am and started the events on all 9 rings shortly after. Junior team events were up first on rings 2 & 3 followed by the seniors. At 10am, it was time for the prestigious black belt individual events! In the junior opens, we saw Christopher Lucking take the male double gold. Olivia Fleet and Ava Neno claimed the respective gold for Kata & Kumite for the females. In the seniors – Andrew Jones and Alex Holmes both took the double gold by fighting through tough competition in their divisions. We continued to see impressive performances in our newest event – Black Belt Continuous Kumite.

Across all of the events, it was great to see exceptional karate standard, talent, and skill on display. The camaraderie, cheering each other on and respect shown was also commendable. Well done to all competitors and a big congratulations if you won a medal!  We look forward to seeing you return to compete at our next tournament which is the UK National Championships in Sheffield on the 28^th November.
