2026 World Cup Results

What an amazing weekend, with the very best of GKR Karate competitors showcasing their skills in Telford UK. We kicked off the weekend on Friday evening with our team events. The competition was electric and the camaraderie was top notch! It certainly set the tone for what was to be an energetic and exciting weekend!

On Saturday, over 1000 competitors took to the mats to earn the title of GKR Karate World Champion! With the room filled to capacity, it was amazing to see competitors and spectators from the GKR World standing shoulder to shoulder, having the experience of a lifetime! Every student who competed held themselves to the highest standards, showcasing the very best Karate that they had to offer. Every single competitor made their friends, family and Sensei incredibly proud!

Then came the pinnacle of the event: Finals Day! On Sunday, all of our Black Belt divisions and a selection of our top adult divisions, all took to the mats for the finals of their events;  and what a finals day it was! The standard of Karate on show was outstanding – a source of inspiration and pride for everyone in GKR to see. We saw many brand-new World Champions, including our senior open competitors, Kitty Lewis (UK), Sarah Whelan (UK) and James Gabbitas (UK), and a special achievement for Alex Plummer (AUS), who took the Gold for the second time running in the Snr Male Open Kumite.
